Connecting TallyPrime
Pairing a computer, choosing a company, and keeping the connection healthy.
What a connection is
One TallyPrime company on one computer you have paired. Every operation runs against exactly one.
How pairing proves it is yours
No API keys to copy. The connector shows a code only on that computer's screen; typing it in proves you are at that machine.
- 1
Run the connector where TallyPrime is installed.
- 2
In your dashboard choose Connect TallyPrime and name the connection.
- 3
Enter the 6-character code. It lasts five minutes; the connector shows a fresh one if needed.
- 4
Choose the company, and approve.
One connection, one company
If a different company is open when a workflow runs, the step fails and names both — rather than writing into the wrong books. For a second company, add a second connection; one installed connector serves them all.
Connection states
| State | Means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Connected | Set up and ready to run automations. | Nothing. |
| Setup unfinished | Pairing was started but never completed. | Choose Finish setup and enter the pairing code. |
| Needs reconnecting | The stored authorization no longer works. | Choose Reconnect. Automations fail until you do. |
| Disconnected | You disconnected it. | Reconnect the same computer whenever you like. |
Checking health
Check connection answers three things in order: is the connector running, is TallyPrime responding, is the right company open. It writes nothing, so it is always safe.
You rarely need it by hand: the dashboard updates itself, and the first time a connection goes down we email you (once per outage). Turn that off under Settings → Email alerts.
Disconnecting and deleting
Disconnect
Every application using it stops at once, and its workflows fail loudly. You can reconnect the same computer later.
Delete
Removes the connection permanently. Your books in TallyPrime are untouched.
Working with several connections
Name them after the company or office, so the approval screen is unambiguous.
Each workflow points at one connection, chosen when the application was authorized.
Your plan sets how many you can connect.
